PM Modi’s big move
7/5/2020 11:43:43 PM

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, paying a surprise visit to Ladakh and interacting with the soldiers deployed there was a message to China that India has made up its mind to repel any move which is aimed at challenging its sovereignty.
Prime Minister Modi’s message was loud and clear that “era of expansionism” is over. The Prime Minister has made it clear that India is ready to take on the adversary if it refuses to mend its ways.
Prime Minister, Modi, by visiting Ladakh and expressing solidarity with the soldiers has boasted the morale of the armed forces deployed in the cold desert. PM’s visit has reassured the people of Ladakh that entire nation is behind them and they need not worry.
Soon after PM Modi’s visit to Ladakh, China issued a statement saying, “No such steps should be taken which are not good for bilateral cooperation and there should be no escalation from any side.”
India taking a tough stand has led to China softening its tone and tenor.
PM Modi has led from the front and his Ladakh visit besides being a morale booster for the Indian Army was a message to every soldier deployed at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) that they have been given a free hand to deal with the aggressor.
PM Modi paid rich tributes to 20 soldiers who laid down their lives at Galwan Valley in a clash with Chinese troops. He reiterated that their sacrifices won’t go in a vain. The PM also reminded China that it couldn’t muster courage to admit the number of casualties on its side.
Prime Minister Modi’s Ladakh visit was hailed by one and all. The retired Army officers described it as a “big move” by the leader representing the entire country. His message that “bravery is prerequisite for peace” made it clear that there will be no looking back. If the adversary makes one move, Indian Army has been given full authority to make two moves.
China too would have understood that it cannot keep India engaged forever by changing the perception of LAC every now and then. It has to remain confined to within its territory.
Otherwise it will have to pay a heavy price for its expansionist designs. Indian Army is ready and is in its full state of preparedness. Ball is in China’s court.
