JAMMU, July 6: Akhil Bharatiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh (ABSMS) has announced to again launch its protest from July 8 as it alleged that the administration didn’t pay any heed to the grievances of the Safai Karamcharis who held protest demonstrations for four days from July 1 to 4.
Addressing a press conference here today, president of ABSMS, Lucky Chadha said that keeping in view of the indifferent attitude of the authorities towards plight of the Safai Karamcharis of the urban local bodies, the Sangh has decided to re-launch its stir from July 8, adding that it will continue until the administration holds talks with the body.
Chadha said that the reason for holding the protest is that Safai Karamcharis, peons and drivers are working for the last 25 years and despite that they have not been regularized.
He urged the Lieutenant Governor to consider regularization of all Safai Karamcharis who have completed 7 years of service, implementation of minimum wages policy as per UT laws, clearance of all pending cases of SRO 43 and clearance of pending arrears of 7th pay commission in favour of all employees.
