Woman entrepreneur becomes proud owner of flourishing M/S Everest Cement Products with help from DIC

UDHAMPUR, July 6: An aspiring young female entrepreneur has become the proud owner of flourishing M/S Everest Cement Products with the help from District Industries Udhampur.
Shivali Mahajan, resident of Everest House Main Bazaar Udhampur, in the year 2018, approached District Industries Udhampur for financial assistance to start her own venture to become an entrepreneur. The department sponsored her case to a financial institution (OBC Bank) with a loan amount of Rs. 25.00 lakhs under PMEGP scheme and registered her maiden unit with the name and style – M/S Everest Cement products for manufacturing of Fly Ash Bricks, Cement Tiles, pavers and blocks.(Green Building Initiative)
Shivali Mahajan worked with full zeal and zest. District Industries Udhampur also supported her consequent to which she was able to run her unit smoothly and bring it into production in the same year.
She is running her business smoothly and also paying her loan installments regularly. Meanwhile, District Industries Centre Udhampur is also pursuing the case of the unit holder for claim of margin money of Rs. 8.75 Lakhs under PMEGP scheme. The PMEGP beneficiary became an MSME unit holder with a short span of time and established her unit at IID Centre Battal Ballian Udhampur with DIC registration no. 07/010/12/00173 dated 17.12.2018.
The department further motivated her to install DG set and lab testing equipments with the 100% subsidy in both the cases. Additionally, the department provided her Rs. 3.47 lakh and Rs. 1.53 lakhs after the installation of DG set and commissioning of Lab testing equipments respectively.
The turnover in the starting year was Rs. 10 lakh, whereas the unit clocked an annual turnover of Rs 36 lakhs in last financial year 2019-20.
The unit which was started initially as a means to make both ends meet now provides employment to 10 persons besides making a profitable earning for her family.
Clearly an entrepreneur like Shivali Mahajan is a role model for other budding entrepreneurs and DIC Udhampur headed by General Manager Suram Chand Sharma, wishes her all the best in her future endeavors.
