Women staged protest against PHE department

Kishtwar, July 7: Showing their great resentment towards non availability of drinking water, Local women at Kishtwar today gather to protest against Jal Shakti Department commonly known as PHE saying that all the employees posted by the department in the area were absent from their legitimate duties and the people of Kulled were not given a drop of water.
The angry women made strong appealed to the Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir to take effective measures to provide drinking water to the people beside take strict action against the employees of Jal Shakti Department posted in Kishtwar.
The angry protesters said that People of Kishtwar are already suffering a lot for the want of drinking water and had walk so many miles to fetch the drinking water.
The people also slam the politicians of Kishtwar District who had made big promises to them that all the troubles of Kishtwar will sort off from the water of Nai Gadh Canal, but nothing happened untill now. Manoj Bhagat, a local said that the leaders of Kishtwar and district administration leaving no stone unturned for befooling the people of Kishtwar. People said that if they were not given water, they will be forced to hit the streets and intensify the protest outside Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar office complex and the responsibility would be borne by the senior officers of Jal Shakti and the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar.
