SSP demands to stop discriminating with martyrs
7/8/2020 12:14:27 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, July 7:Sainik Samaj Party (SSP) has demanded from the government to stop discriminating with the martyrs.
Retired Colonel SS Pathania, President SSP complimented and congratulated Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao for showing light to the nation as how to pay respect and express our gratitude to the gallant soldiers who make the Supreme sacrifice while defending the sovereignty of our country.
CM Rao has amply demonstrated, his commitment towards the nation and his love and respect for the Armed Forces by releasing an ex gratia relief of Rs 5 Crore, a plot and deputy Collectors post for spouse of Martyr Colonel Santosh Babu.
In addition, he has also announced Rs 10 lacs relief to the families of 19 martyrs of Galwan valley.
Punjab's CM too has enhanced the ex gratia relief from existing Rs 10 lacs to raise 50 lacs. Successive Kashmir centric governments in last 72 years have shown great apathy and least concern towards the supreme sacrifices of Martyrs and their families.
As on today, ex gratia relief given to Martyr's families in our UT is meagre 5 lacs, in case a soldier attains martyrdom with in J&K and no ex gratia in case the soldier belonging to our UT attain martyrdom anywhere else in the country fighting militancy or due to enemy action.
SRO 43 caters for a government job, for one of the family member of martyred soldier, subject to his martyrdom with in the UT, however he is denied this facility, in case of martyrdom anywhere else in the country. This discrimination certainly defies the spirit of one country, one flag and one constitution.
Pathania urged union government and honourable Lt Governor to stop discrimination towards our brave hearts and their families immediately and correct the historical wrongs being committed over the last 72 years.
