| Relief organization non serious about migrants issues: Sunil | | |

JAMMU,July 7: Be it issue of water crisis,repairing or renovation of buildings or anything else ,the Relief organization has been indifferent to the issues pertaining to the inmates putting up at Jagti camp near here right from the beginning.
This was stated by social activist ,Sunil Pandita while addressing a meeting of community members at Jagti camp keeping in view norms of proper social distancing and face covers.
He said the camp inmates have been drinking unhygienic water particularly in the rainy season since the inception of this camp in June 2011 and it was highly surprising that a single agency has been allotted the contract of maintenance for years together which fails one to understand and despite that there was no regular water supply to the camp as contractors were never held responsible for their lackadaisical attitude by the nodal organization, he added.
While taking a dig at the self styled leaders who have been showering praises on relief organization for carrying out satisfactory renovation and repairing work of quarters at Jagti camp were misleading the the community by issuing such press statements for reasons best known to them.I appeal them that they should pay a visit again to these buildings to see themselves that how public money was looted by using substandard material in renovation and repairing work of quarters by the blue eyed contractors.
He urged the Relief organization to wake up from the slumber and take serious note of problems pertaining to migrants and address their issues amicably before it they take to streets to lodge protests against the organization, Sunil warned. |
