Rajouri, July 7: The Public Works (Road and Building) Department Nowshera Division, first blacktopped a road from Rumali Dhara to Bareri, Dabbar to Sunderbani in violation of norms nearly seven months ago and later it failed to repair the road, which was had got damaged soon after its blacktopping.
The residents of Bareri village alleged that, PWD has been wasting the money hard earned taxpayers in making substandard roads, which started damaging soon after the works completed.
“The condition of Rumali Dhara to Bareri, Dabbar to Sunderbani road was very deplorable and after constant efforts by the local residents, the department started blacktopping of the road in the month of December, 2019, which is not suitable of the blacktopping but putting aside the guidelines but the blacktopping started damaging due to use of substandard material and execution of work in winter season due to which it could not stay long,” they alleged.
Although after making complaints with the administration, the ADC Nowshera visited the spot and inspected the road and asserted that substandard work has been done and directed the department to carry out repair work before March 2020 but it has been more than seven months, no repair work has been done so far, they alleged.
