YLA pays rich tributes to ex-BAR chief Slathia

JAMMU, July 7: Young Lawyers Association (YLA), Jammu held a Shradanjali Samaroh as an homage to senior advocate and former president J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, B.S Slathia.
The programme held at J&K High Court Jammu premises under the leadership of Nitin Bakhshi, President Young Lawyers Association.
Rich floral tributes were paid to Sher-e-Jammu BS Slathia by the team of Young Lawyers Association, Jammu which includes Nitin Bakhshi, President; Sarwesh Kotwal, Vice President Young Lawyers Association, J&K High Court,Jammu ; Upasana Thakur, General Secretary and others along with daughters of Slathia namely Cafe Slathia and Meenakshi Slathia.
They garlanded the picture of Slathia, followed by lighting of diya and offering of flowers to the picture of departed soul.
Telephonic Shradanjali was delivered to the departed soul by D C Raina, Senior Advocate, Advocate General, UT of J&K where he expressed that it is a huge loss to whole Jammu province as it has lost a brave warrior like B S Slathia, adding that it is a personal loss to him also as he has lost a companion of 47 years since he and Slathia were class fellows while pursuing LL.B
Speaking on the occasion, Nitin Bakhshi, said that J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu as well as whole Jammu province has lost a stalwart who always stood like a stiff rock for the larger interest of Jammu, adding that his untimely death has brought a huge vacuum in the whole system which can’t be filled easily.
