Shaurya Educational Society honours meritorious students

Jammu, July 7: Shaurya Educational Society today honoured meritorious students of 10th and 12th classes of Miran Sahib block by presenting them mementoes and cash awards.
The students were honoured in an impressive function held at Swarn Palace, Mralia. The function was chaired by Harinder (Vicky) Mahajan, Chirman of Shaurya Educational Society, Jammu. Inspector Harmohinder Singh, SHO of Miran Sahib police station, was also present on the occasion.
While presenting mementoes and cash award of Rs 500 each to meritorious students, Harinder Mahajan appreciated the role of education department for providing quality education to rural students of government schools who compete with their counterparts and bring laurels to their respective schools and parents.
On the occasion, he made an earnest appeal to minimise the gap and build a strong coordination between students and faculty in providing better education.
Making a mention of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mahajan called upon the gathering to maintain social distancing and follow other necessary protocols.
Chairman of Shaurya Educational Society also honoured SHO Harmohinder Singh by presenting him a memento. In his address, the SHO appreciated the efforts of Shaurya Educational Society in boosting the morale of rural students.
Others, who spoke on the occasion, included retired headmaster Avtar Singh and Kirtan Singh. Refreshment was also arranged by Shaurya Educational Society for the gathering.Others, who were present on the occasion, included parents, students, locals, Kirtan Singh, President of Indian National Congress Army, Jammu, Parmod Sharma, retired headmaster and district president (rural, Jammu) and Mohinder Singh.
