Jammu Citizens’ Forum lauds Army’s role as frontline warriors

JAMMU, July 8: Having all kudos for the Indian Army’s valour and their role as frontline warriors, Jammu Citizen’s Forum on Wednesday honoured the COVID-19 fighters including doctors at a function held at the auditorium of JK Public School Kunjwani.
GOC Tiger Division Major General VB Nair was the chief guest on the occasion, which was organized with all guidelines and protocol of social distancing in place.
The services of Corona warriors including Army, Police, Health Workers of Municipality, Medicos and Media were lauded on the occasion while the gathering of people including the NGOs paid tribute to Martyrs’ and honoured COVID Warriors for their dedication towards duties. The programme started with the release of song of Sunil Sharma for COVID warriors and distribution of Masks/Sanitizer in the presence of Maj Gen VB Nair.
Veer Nari Sharda Bhau was also present on the occasion while Dr Rahul Gupta, Head, Department of Chest Diseases, Dr Rohit Gupta, Deputy Director Jammu Indian System of Medicines (Ayush) and Col Y Suresh Reddy represented the different fraternities of Corona Warriors. Other awardees include Dr Rajeshwar Sharma, Medical Superintendent CD Hospital, Jammu, Soma Devi, Matron, CD Hospital, Pawan Sharma, Senior Pharmacist, ISM, Suresh Sharma, Supervisory Pharmacist, Girdhari Lal, Pharmacist, and Vijay Dubey Head Pharmacist, ISM.
Brig Harcharan Singh, Director Sainik Welfare Department, in his welcome address appreciated the initiative of Jammu Citizens Forum in expressing gratitude to Armed Forces through public programmes and made special mention for Army, Police, Medical Department and Municipality workers role in this fight.
Rotary Club Elite and S S Jain Sabha sponsored the videography of a song in honour of Martyrs and to bring the contribution made by Corona Warriors to the notice of the people along with renowned singer, writer and music composer, Sunil Sharma, famous as ‘Kishore Kumar of J&K’, who composed and sung the song, aptly videographed by Varun Anand.
