| Advisor Baseer Khan directs speedy completion of CCS, PMDP schemes | | |  Early Tims Report
SRINAGAR, July 8: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan today directed speedy implementation of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) in Kashmir division meant for augmentation of power infrastructure including increasing transmission capacity and reducing Transmission and Distribution Losses.
The Advisor passed on these directions during a review meeting convened to discuss power sector reforms and implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes in Kashmir. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Power Development Department, Rohit Kansal; Managing Director Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), Mohammad Aijaz and other senior officers of the Power department. Officers from Jammu attended the meeting through video. He also directed them that massive enforcement drives be launched to report huge power consumption and power theft and action taken accordingly.
MD KPDCL presented a detailed presentation about the progress made on the various centrally sponsored schemes and gave the timelines for their completion.
He informed the meeting that major power reforms are underway like implementation of system reform schemes to other rural areas of Kashmir.
Regarding the reduction of Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses, he said that AT & C loss reduction measures are underway and to be adopted in next three financial years.
He also said that implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for better and effective inventory personal accounts management to reduce costs and increase efficiency within three years and mobile.
