GDC Kishtwar organized a national level quiz competition

Kishtwar, July 9: Department of Botany, Government Degree College Kishtwar today organized a national level quiz competition for the students of BSc 6th semester.
The quiz was conducted under the patronage of Prof. Anirudh Sharma, Principal GDC Kishtwar and Covenorship of Dr. Barket Ali, HOD Botany. More than 100 students participated in this quiz competition from various colleges of the J&K UT and outside UT. The quiz was based on the syllabus of BSc 6th semester covering ecology, biogeography, and economic botany. First position Was secured by Deepika Baldotra from Govt Degree College Akhnoor, 2nd position was secured by Anmol Rani from Govt Degree College Kishtwar, and 3rd position was secured by Anamika Sharma from Govt Degree College Akhnoor. The quiz was organised by Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Wani, Assistant Professor department of Botany, GDC Kishtwar. GDC Kishtwar under the patronage of Prof. Anirudh Sharma (Principal) has taken an ambitious initiative of conducting a series of Career Counselling and Guidance program for student community. In this regard second CC&G session was held on 8th July 2020. Dr. Javed Iqbal, Global Fellow at Brandies University USA was the guest speaker. Dr. Javed highlighted importance of data science and deliberated about various data science courses like R programming, Python, etc. . He advised the students to join online courses on data science run by different universities and shared important links for the same. He motivated the students to dream big and pursue their dreams with determination and dedication.
He deliberated on the criteria to get admission in top institutions across the world in humanities and social sciences. Various questions were asked by the participants which were answered by Dr. Javed in a very comprehensive way. The meeting was attended by the students from various colleges and universities. The session was convened by Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Wani, Assistant Professor Botany, GDC Kishtwar.
