Jammu, July 10: On the eve of World Population Day , Govt. Degree College, Ramgarh, conducted door-to-door campaign to make general public aware about the importance of the day and to raise awareness about the exploding world population. The aim of this campaign was to pay great attention towards the reproductive health problems of the community as it is the leading cause of the ill health as well as death of the pregnant women worldwide. This campaign helps to update the knowledge among the people towards their reproductive health and family planning. Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, shared her views regarding the celebration of the day as “What happens when the population in a particular area grows at an accelerated rate? It depletes all the natural resources, destroys habitats, promotes poverty and causes famine. These are just a few problems that arise from overpopulation and there are many more that affect the world over.” Student volunteers of Sem 2nd Poonam Devi and Shikha Sharma along with Faculty Members Dr. Sandeep Kumar. |
