M Raju reviews development projects in Anantnag

ANANTNAG, July 10: Secretary Planning, Development & Monitoring Department, M Raju, today reviewed progress on various development projects being executed in the district under PDD, PHE, Flood, RDD Health, Education, Agriculture and allied sectors during an officers meeting held here today. District Development Commissioner, K.K Sidha, through a Power Point Presentation gave detailed information about the physical and financial achievements registered under various centrally sponsored schemes in the district. The concerned officers briefly presented the progress achieved in their respective sectors besides apprising the Secretary about their issues and demands like release of funds, land acquisition, construction of DC office complex, augmentation of grid stations, construction of two MCHs one each at Doru and Shangus, completion of Rehmati- Alam Hospital, construction of Youth Hostel, LN2 plant for Animal Husbandry etc. SE PDD informed that 9 towns have been electrified under PMPD Urban out of sanctioned 12 towns and work is in progress on 3 remaining towns which is expected to be completed by September 2020. SE Hydraulic informed the meeting that there are 9 regular schemes, 39 under NRDWP, 15 under NABARD with 72 per cent completion while out of 30 minor irrigation schemes 13 stands completed pertaining to flood threats. Executive Engineer FCD informed that the department has identified 29 vulnerable spots and is all set to meet any flood threat. Under FMP, out of 22 works taken up 17 stands completed while one scheme for Jhelum stands completed and protection works of Lidder Nallah with a project cost of Rs. 3.99 core under NABARD are under execution. Secretary Planning stressed upon the officers to work in unison with the district administration to complete all the pending as well as ongoing development works within stipulated time. He said that government is keen towards assessing and resolving the basic issues and concerns of the public. He added that government has introduced several techonological interventions, Geo tagging to bring added transparency and accountability in the working of all departments. The meeting was attended by ADC, CMO SEs, Executive Engineers PDD, R&B and Hydraulic, GM JKPCC, JD Planning and other officers of concerned departments. Later, Secretary along with DDC and other officers visited Rehmati- Alam hospital and inspected development works being executed there.
