Hurriyat reopens Khoon Ki Dukaan!

Early Times Report

Srinagar, July 10: After ten months of hibernation and hiding, the so called Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is back with the provocative statements against the Government of India.
Since the abrogation of the Article 370 on August 5, 2019, the Hurriyat leaders had been silent.
But now, the Hurriyat-M has started its activities and even held a meeting. Sources said the first such meeting was held on July 1 in Srinagar.
Sources said senior Hurriyat leader Abdul Gani Bhat and Bilal Gani Lone attended the meeting to keep the pot boiling in Kashmir. It was reliably learnt that the party was desperate to hold the meeting in compliance to the directives of their handlers sitting in Pakistan.
Sources said the meeting stressed on the “peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue, while calling for dialogue among its stakeholders.”
“The J&K dispute has to be resolved peacefully, as per the wishes and aspirations of the people of J&K. The resolution has to take place among its three stakeholders — India, Pakistan and the people of J&K. Dialogue, which the Hurriyat has advocated and has participated in, among its three stakeholders is the best alternative to resolve it,” said a source privy to the meeting. The meeting said the resolution to Kashmir would be the “best guarantee to real peace and prosperity in the subcontinent.”
A senior official told Early Times that the meeting may have been held on the instructions of Pakistan which wants the separatists to keep open the “khoon ki dukaan.” “Basically Pakistan has been frustrated by the peace and prosperity which JK is reaping benefits of since the abrogation of the special status. So such unwanted meeting may be a step to keep the pot boiling,” said the official on the condition of anonymity.
Experts on Kashmir have cautioned New Delhi from giving space to separatist forces. “If such meetings are held in future also the people will start thinking on same old separatist lines and that is something harmful for the nation and national integrity.
