Early Times Report

Udhampur, July 12: Some chemical industries at Londana Morh in Battel Ballian here are polluting a natural source of water by dumping their waste water into it.
Sources said that the rivulet which gets industrial waste water from chemical industries falls into nensu Devika and en-route many locals consume its water for domestic purpose such as cloth washing , agriculture etc. The water is consumed by animals as well.
They further informed that at night the chemical industries dump their overflow tank waste illegally into the rivulet following which some locals have informed that fish growth in the water body has also reduced.
We appeal the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla to look into the matter and take strict action against them who were polluted the local rivulet water. When contacted District Pollution Control Officer said that he will verify the matter and strict action will be taken against the erring industries.
A video in this regard was also send to the DC Udhampur who replied that he will also look into the matter as the video was not clear. “Anybody found guilty will be strictly dealt with,” he said.
