JAMMU, July 12: Nirbhay Bharat Foundation (NBF) honoured Swati Sharma with Dogra Shurveer Samman for her service to humanity by giving free classes to the students of slum and by distributing ration to underprivileged people during lockdown.
Tarun Uppal, a renowned activist and Chairperson of NBF, felicitated Swati Sharma, who expressed gratitude to NBF for honouring her.
“People have demonstrated their unity, standing up together without any caste, creed and political colour in the battle to combat the spread of the Coronavirus,” she said, adding, the same approach should be adopted in nation-building.
She said that it’s the duty of everyone to come forward to extend helping hand to the society whenever the society needs us. Swati said that the mainstay of the whole war against the Corona pandemic is to strictly follow the norms of social distancing and use all the necessary precautions like frequent hand washing etc.
She appealed to the people not to come out of their homes unnecessarily as it will help to contain the spread of virus, without cooperation of citizens it would be hard to achieve desired results besides making Jammu free from COVID-19.
Tarun, while felicitating, said that she (Swati) is working as frontline warrior to defeat corona pandemic.
He said that the Society will never forget the contribution of all those corona warriors, who have performed their duties while not giving a thought about their own wellbeing.
