Early Times Report

Rajouri, July 12: Poor arrangements coupled with pathetic condition of most of the quarantine centres in Rajouri district have virtually exposed the tall claims of Rajouri district administration. The same can be substantiated from the videos, which have gone viral in recent past in which people who have been kept under observation were seen accusing administration of providing them poor quality of food and insanitation in the quarantine centers.
The people suspected to be affected by COVID-19 allege that inadequate and poor quality food is being given to them in contrary to diet plan prescribed as per guidelines. “There is no taste in food, which is provided to us and very little food is given to us. Moreover nobody comes to clean the quarantine centres due to which garbage remain scattered, creating insanitation in and around the quarantine centres, which has quite potential to create more diseases,” they alleged.
They further said that there is lack of washrooms in the centres, which can be gauged from the fact that in some quarantine centres where 30-40 people have been lodged there are two wash rooms which are inadequate and can infect other people, who have just been kept under observation. “Even washrooms are not kept clean,” they said.
In another incident, the quarantine center at Government Boys High Secondary School Rajouri has been grappling with shortage of water as there was no electricity in the school due to which water supply could not be made possible. When people appealed to the concerned administrator to bring them water from their own expense, they were denied, which created resentment among them. They demanded the administration to provide them with good food.
“Insects are found in cooked rice, the pulses are watery and not tasty, which make our stay here difficult,” they alleged. When contacted DC Rajouri, Nazeer Sheikh said that the viral videos are totally baseless and all the facilities are up to the mark.
