EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, July 13: Employees under the banner of J&K Government Employees Joint Action Committee (R) observed a day long protest dharna in front of Press Club, Jammu and Srinagar today.
All sections of J&K Government/Public Sector permanent and temporary employees throughout J&K observed one day protest dharna and paralysed the administration in protest against the non-serious and dilly delaying tactics of the government by not implementing its commitments, assurances and left out the agreement on already agreed demands which were made with the employees representatives from time to time but the government has miserably failed to honour its commitments in letter and spirit and compelled the permanent employee and all type of daily wagers for one day protest dharna.
In Jammu, a large number of employees assembled at Press Club, Jammu and held massive protest/dharna where EJAC (R) leaders Hussain Malik, State President along with senior trade union leaders Yashpaul Sharma, Kulwant Singh Sambyal, Darshan Magotra, Meenakshi . Sharma, Naresh Sharma, Parshotam Sharma, Rohit Seth, Vikas Chander, Arun Sharma, Munish Sharma
The protesting leaders said that the government has done nothing to formulate the policy for regularization of casual, seasonal and daily rated workers engaged in various departments in the union territory of J&K for decades. EJAC (R) demands a comprehensive policy for regularization of these daily rates, seasonal, contractual and casual labourers as per different guidelines issued by the Union government. A combined decision made by the previous coalition govt drafted out a new regularization policy under SRO-520 which has been rejected by the EJAC and daily wagers as it is against the interests of employees. However EJAC (R) demands revival and amendment of SRO-64 of 1994 and adopt the same guidelines for regularization of the cadre.
