Non-Gazetted employees serving Ladakh UT call on JKAP leaders in Jammu
7/13/2020 11:56:53 PM
Early Times Report

Vijaypur, July 13: Seeking intervention of Lt Governor Girish Chander Murmu, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party, senior leader, and former minister, Manjit Singh today appealed to the Government to bring back the non-gazetted employees of Jammu and Kashmir serving in Ladakh Union Territory.
As per the press statement, they also called on JKAP, senior leader and former minister, Manjit Singh with a request to bring them back to Jammu and Kashmir from Ladakh.
The former minister Manjit Singh also appraised the issues of the non-gazetted employees of J&K serving in Ladakh UT with the JKAP President Syed Altaf Bukhari telephonically.
The deputation appraised the former minister that they were not able to service in Ladakh Union Territory due to harsh weather conditions where they got posted after being selected in government services when Ladakh was the part of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Most of them are from the Scheduled Caste community and their families are also worried about their safety. Far away from their home districts, these employees should be brought back to J&K,” demanded Manjit Singh after meeting the deputation.
Singh said that a large number of people got government services in Ladakh when Ladakh was the part of erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir and it is time for the government to take a decision for the benefit of these employees and their families.
“These employees had also filled up application forms expressing their willingness to return back to the J&K as preference. But the decision on their return was not taken even as the matter is still pending before the General Administration Department (GAD),” said the former minister.
After listening to their demands, the JKAP senior leader has appealed to Lt Governor Girish Chander Murmu so that these poor employees can be brought back to J&K where they can serve in future.
“Since Ladakh has been separated from J&K, there is no need to keep these employees anymore in Ladakh and they should be shifted back to Jammu and Kashmir,” demanded the former minister Manjit Singh.
He said that the party will highlight their concern ensuring their return back to the J&K.
