Director Horticulture inspects activities of deptt in Reasi

REASI, July 14: Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Sevak conducted an extensive tour of the Reasi and inspected the activities of department in the district.
He visited Government Fruit Plant nurseries Dagozi and Pouni. During the visit, the Director instructed for conducting time bound operations and proper maintenance of the nurseries, while following the guidelines and SOPs related to COVID-19 Pandemic. He said full attention is being given on production of true to type plant material for meeting the requirement of farmers of the region.
Various orchards as well as other developmental activities /works were also inspected. The Director horticulture inspected orchards of Ganesh Sharma at Bhagga, Varinder Mangotra at Jerdi and Sanjeev Kumar at Seela.
He also instructed all staff members of the Department to remain punctual and perform their duties with dedication and maintain a close liaison with the growers/orchardists so that they get timely technical knowhow and benefits of departmental schemes. He emphasized upon the farming community to take maximum benefit from KCC.
Regarding celebration of Kisan Pakhwada, instructions were also given to organize the camps and maintain close liaison with the allied Departments for their success.
In this connection, he was informed by Chief Horticulture Officer Reasi that a series of awareness camps are being conducted under ‘Kissan Pakhwada’ by the Horticulture Department, Reasi in all the panchayats of district Reasi for 100% saturation of KCC and creating awareness regarding the various developmental schemes being implemented by the Horticulture Department..
Mukesh Sharma, Chief Horticulture Officer Reasi , Mr. Sandeep Sharma District Level SMS , Dr. Nazran Khan Horticulture Development Officer Reasi, Zia Rashid HDO Pouni, R.K.Salgotra HDO Arnas, Varinder Sharma HDO Mahore accompanied the Director during the tour.
