DC Doda reviews performance of Revenue deptt
Asks for intensifying anti-encroachment drive

DODA, July 15: Deputy Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode, today reviewed the performance of revenue department here at a meeting of revenue officers of the district.
The meeting discussed the issues pertaining to writing and updation of Girdawari, conducting of mutation camps and attestation of mutations, removing of illegal encroachments, status of issuance of Domicile certificates, pending land acquisition cases, illegal conversion of agriculture land into non agricultural purposes besides identification of land for establishment of BDC offices and SC/ ST hostels.
The meeting also discussed enforcement of Social distancing measures in the district, facilities at quarantine centers, status of present Covid-19 cases, contact tracing etc.
The DC directed the Tehsildars to pace up the process of updating Girdawari. It was informed that against total 144 Girdawaris due for writing, 105 have been written, and 39 are pending which will be completed on war footing.
Regarding the attestation of mutations, the DC directed the Tehsildars to organise special camps to complete all the pendency at the earliest. The Sub Registrars were asked to provide the copy of the registry to the concerned Tehsildars so that the mutation was entered on the Persons name within 15 day period.
The DC appreciated the department for satisfactory progress in issuance of Domicile certificates and asked Revenue Officers to gear up their men and machinery in their respective jurisdictions to expedite the process further
Meanwhile, the DC directed the Revenue Officers to intensify the anti encroachment drive across the district and strictly adhere to the directions issued by Government in this regard.
He stressed upon the need for taking of strict action against every kind of encroachment in rural as well as urban areas of the district and asked them to retrieve state land and kahchari land from the encroachers.
The Deputy Commissioner also took stock of scanning of revenue records and was informed that work of the same is in full swing across the district.
Among others the meeting was attended by Revenue Officers of the district including Additional Deputy Commissioner, Doda, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah, ACR Doda, Sub Divisional Magistrate’s Thathri, Gandoh and Assar and all Tehsildars of the district.
