GCW Udhampur observes “World Youth Skill Day”

UDHAMPUR, July 15: Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur observed the “World Youth Skill Day” with the visionary lead of Principal, Prof Minu Mahajan, who is committed to work on increasing entrepreneurship avenues for the youth of Udhampur in general and girls/daughters of the region in particular. In the backdrop of the theme two events were organized. To start, a video competition was conducted. The sub-theme of the competition was ‘Show Your Skill’ whereby 27 entries were received from the students across the disciplines. The competition was adjudged by Prof Parmjit Singh, Dr Amit Kumar and Prof Rajinder Singh. Urvashi got third prize, who exhibited the skill of making soft toys. Sheetal Sharma and Vidhushi Bamotra shared the second prize; they showed the skill of painting walls and doors. Sapna Devi got the first prize and she presented marvelously the skill of making cushions/pillows. A seminar through online mode was also conducted wherein Kunal Gupta, an alumnus of BITS PILANI & IIM Ahmedabad and owner of TinkerLabs, was the guest speaker.
