Army receives about 50,000 applications for recruitment from J&K, Ladakh

Jammu, July 15 With the settlement of COVID-19 pandemic, recruitment process will be initiated again as around 50,000 applications have been received from the youth in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Union Territories, a senior Army officer said. Brig Jawahar Singh, Deputy Director General, Recruiting, (J&K, Punjab) in a video message circulated by the Army said, "due to Corona pandemic, recruitment rallies could not be held, but it will soon be initiated once the pandemic settles down." "Last year rallies were conducted in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir and 2500 youth were recruited in the Armed Forces," he said adding that for 2020-21 period, about 50,000 applications have been received but due to pandemic, the recruitment process could not take off. "I also met youth in Kashmir and found during interaction that they are very much enthusiast in joining the Army," he said adding that the rallies will soon be organised in Rajouri, Bandipora and Kargil regions.
"I want to ensure that Army understands the pain of every individual and try to address it in a very professional manner and soon the recruitment rallies will be organised so that more youth are engaged in the force," said Brig Singh.
