Jammu, July 15: Jammu District Administration on Wednesday slapped fine to commuters for not wearing face masks in public places.
A team of District Administration led by a senior officer this afternoon slapped fine to number of people who were found without face masks in the markets and bazaars.
The team from the office of Deputy Commissioner Jammu led by officials of ADC rank slapped fine on the commuters in the presence of police. The official said that wearing a face mask is as important as life and attempts are being made to sensitise people. “As unlock is there but people have to be very careful and follow all SOPs and guidelines,” he said adding that the directions of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi of developing the habit of wearing face masks to people, are being implemented on ground. “We have appealed to people not to allow their children to move out without face masks and when it comes to saving lives, there will be no lenient approach adopted,” he added.
