| JKSPYM holds meet on ill effects of drug abuse | | |

JAMMU, July 29: J&K Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses (JKSPYM), a NGO working in the field of Health and Development, organized meeting with peers here today at its Gole Pulli, Talab Tillo office. The objective of this meeting was to generate awareness among our peers and volunteer on ill effects of drug abuse and information regarding Outreach and Drop In centre running under the ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India. JKSPYM in its recent survey found that drug abuse is in rise in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and every activity pertaining to curb the addiction is much required now days.
In the meeting, the members discussed role and responsibilities of peer and volunteers in the field, awareness about drug abuse and there ill effects so, that they spread awareness in their locality regarding addiction and its treatment and also guide them to join mainstream.
More than 20 peers and volunteer were present while maintaining physical distancing. Among these peers identity cards, t- shirts and refreshment were also distributed.
Centre Incharge Shikha along with her team Monika, Meher, Pushp of JKSPYM ODIC project mentioned that the NGO JKSPYM is actively involved in drug use treatment among drug users since last 20 years. |
