NYK Jammu organises plantation drive cum Covid-19 awareness program

JAMMU, July 31: A plantation drive cum COVID-19 awareness program was today launched by Nehru Yuva Kendra Jammu (Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India) here at Village Lachman Pura, Block Mandal.
Over 200 saplings of different varieties including seasonal fruits and medicinal plants were planted by about a group of 30 National Youth Volunteers, Youth Club Members and the Villagers.
Nisar Ahmed Butt (DYC, Nehru Yuva Kendra), Sikander Kumar and Rekha Kumari (National Youth Volunteer Block Mandal), besides Shubham Kumar, Manik Sharma, Vishal Sharma, Sunny Kumar, Rohit Bhagat, Ramesh Kumar, Rahul Bhagat, Kunal Singh, Kunal Tandan, Sanu Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Sahil Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Rahul Sapoliya, Rakesh Kumar were present on this occasion.
Nisar Ahmed Butt (District Youth Coordinator) briefed the participants about the hazards of Covid-19 Pandemic. The participants were briefed about protective measures against Covid-19 by following simple steps and guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO) like maintaining social distancing, regular hand washing, maintaining hygiene, use of sanitizer and soap, wearing of face mask and ways to keep immunity strong.
The participating Youth Club Members were Rahul Singh, Vikram Singh, Anchal Sharma and Mohit Sharma.
