RAJESH TANDON

EARLY TIMES REPORT

POONCH, July 31: The district administrations of Poonch as well as Rajouri are under severe criticism for their alleged poor arrangements in various quarantine centers, which are being exposed through various videos, which are going viral in social media platforms by the quarantined persons.
The videos depicting insanitation, poor food quality, erratic power supply in the quarantine centers, which exposed the tall claims of concerned administrations. The inmates have been seen alleging the concerned officers for not following the guidelines as per SOPs and requesting the senior functionaries to take note of their grievances.
“We are facing several hardships in getting potable water, good quality of food, proper power supply. Washrooms remain dirty most of the times and same toilet is used by the suspect as well as the positive patient, thereby posing serious threat of spreading this virus to others also,” they alleged.
They alleged that the lower level officers, who have been given charge of looking after these quarantine centers are the main culprits, who have been hoodwinking their superiors as well as the concerned administration that everything has been going on perfect but the on ground, the reality is totally different, which shows that the some corrupt officials have been minting money in the garb of pandemic.
Although the Rajouri administration takes action, whenever it gets complaints about poor management in quarantine centers but on the contrary the Poonch district never bothers to take note of such issues seriously and whenever the district head is contacted to inform about such issues, he never picks up the call.
When contacted, DC Rajouri, Sheikh Mohd Nazeer refuted the allegations of poor facilities and informed that providing all necessary amenities is the priority of administration and any laxity on the part of the low rung officials who have been deployed for looking after the quarantine centers, will be dealt with strong hands. Meantime, when DC Poonch, Rahul Yadav was contacted, as usual he didn’t pick up the call.
