Jammu, Aug 2: Gurmeet Singh Social activist and leader Aam Aadmi Party extended his greeting to the people on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan and said may the festival be an occasion for re-dedication to the well being of women, particularly the girl child.
The occasion brings along with it an era of peace, prosperity, harmony and progress for the people of the country. It symbolises the inseparable bond of love between brothers and sisters.
The importance of the Raksha Bandhan festival which signifies the pious relationship of brother and sister, increases more in this time when cruelty on daughters and sisters and atrocities are continuously rising.
As a result, there is a wave of concern in the society, Singh said.
He also appealed to the people of the country to follow all SOPs issued by Government in view of the prevailing situation of Pandemic COVID 19. Blessings and stay safe during this period of Covid-19 pandemic.
Raj Kumar Nischal Coordinator AAP JK, said that the gesture is not a mere ritual, but a powerful act that obligates everyone to ensure the safety and security of women.
Raksha Bandhan is a unique representation of India's cultural ethos, symbolizing the special bonds between brothers and sisters. This festival also was symbolic of duty, intimacy, sacrifice, social unity and harmony. He said celebrate the Raksha Bandhan at homes, adhere to the principles of social distancing and avoid gatherings at their homes and public places during the festival so the possible mass-scale outbreak of coronavirus could be averted.
