EJAC demands compensation to PDD employees | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 2: Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) today expressed solidarity with the Electric Employees Union and demanded compensation and implementation of SRO 43 in favour of the victim and all daily wagers and casual labours. EJAC president Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam expressed deep and heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family of Reyaz Ahmad Rather son of Ab Rahman Rather of kreshbal Noorbagh who died in harness while working due to electric shock at Danamazar safakadal on Saturday. “Government has been doing great injustice to these employees and rather they are victimized because of their poverty and helplessness. The EJAC shall not leave these employees in lurch and would fight for their regularisation”, it stated. The EJAC has asked the government to take flawless measures to ensure the safety of all such casual temporary employees who are working on risky and life consuming jobs. EJAC has asked the government to pay compensation and ex-gratia relief to the victim and all such similar cases and the benefits under S R O43 be given to the victim. The EJAC President has expressed deep regret that people at the higher levels show cold attitude towards these employees. He has appealed the Govt to be compassionate and justice be done with this lot at the earliest. Meanwhile a high level delegation of EJAC under the leadership of Chief spokesman, Tariq Ahmad Sofi visited the bereaved family and paid its rich tributes to the deceased and solidarity with the bereaved family. |
