Despite Govt orders, teachers continue to remain attached in DSEJ: Panthers Party
8/3/2020 10:20:42 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 3: Anguished over the total collapse of the educational system in J&K with massive cases of corrupt malpractices in Education Department coming to fore, Panthers Party accused the Director SEJ of not implementing the orders issued by the Government pertaining to the detachments of the teachers from offices and their subsequent deputation to schools in letter and spirit.
Gagan Pratap Singh State Secy JKNPP regretted that thousands of employees including the teachers, Masters and Lecturers still remain attached in the office of DSEJ, CEOs, ZEOs, Tehsildars in almost all the districts of Jammu division despite the orders of their detachment from the Government. “The Director SEJ has failed to implement the order in the most contemptuous and disdainful manner. The schools in the hinterland have become defunct due the deficiency of the teaching staff. The rural students have suffered academically in the past several years. Who is responsible for the mess?”, Singh asked. Doubting the credibility of the Education department, Singh said that in flagrant defiance of the repeated instructions from the government, Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has not relieved several teachers from the offices at zonal, district and division level and deputed them to schools. Asserting that the Education department has drawn widespread criticism from all quarters for illegally attaching “influential” teachers, masters and lecturers in offices, Singh recalled that the department had sent the list of 27 teachers and masters deputed in offices in Jammu to DSEJ with explicit directions to relieve them to their original place of postings with immediate effect. “It has been reported that several teachers are still attached in the office of DSEJ for the past several years. One teacher named Manju from Rajouri who has been attached sits besides the Director and acts as close aide of the latter. Likewise, one Love Kumar Lecturer IT has been looking after the IT cell of DSEJ, one Romesh Kumar Lecturer Psychology has been taking care of Counseling cell for the last several years, one Surjit Lecturer Dogri from Udhampur has been made in-charge of Cultural cell. In a most glaring example, one Ashok Dhar has been working as S.O ( Non –Gazetted) for the past 20 years in DSEJ. He has reportedly earned a dubious notoriety of exploiting and harassing the promoted Masters of 2014 who are seeking their adjustments. All these attached incumbents are the ‘arms’ of the director SEJ”, said Gagan.
