Poonch Admin conducts drive against illegal mining, traffic violations

Poonch, Aug 3: Tehsil Administration led by Tehsildar Haveli Anjum Khan and constituting Naib Tehsildar Chandak Afzal and Naib Tehsildar Gulpur Rashid Chowhan took up an extensive drive against illegal mining of minerals in the river bed area in Shein Dara Sector.
The operation was carried out under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Poonch Rahul Yadav.
Tehsildar Khan while talking to media said that numerous complaints were recieved regarding the extraction of minerals from river and taking strong note of that special squads were moved into action so as to book the violators. Meanwhile the special squads also conducted surprise checking of vehicles in Khanetar area of Poonch and a fine of nine thousands and one hundred rupees 9100 was realized from the violators in these drives.
Tehsildar Khan appealed to the general public and to specially to youngsters to abide by the Traffic norms like wearing of seat belts, helmet t etc so that precious lives are saved.
He also stressed that there shall be no compromise with those who are taking law in their hands and are not following the rules and regulations as prescribed by authorities from time to time.
