JU Organizes national level online photography competition

Jammu, Aug 3: On the occasion of the World Nature Conservation Day the NSS Campus Units and Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, Jammu organized “National Level Online Still Photography Competition on the theme “Nature: Pictures of Infinite Beauty” from 28th July to 31st July 2020. By adhering the Social Distancing norms and other SOP conditions as under Covid-19, a large number of NSS Volunteers, Students, Scholars, Teachers, Alumni and Parents in all age groups participated in the competition. The participants had to click the Beauty of Nature and upload their clicked photographs for which an online form was created.
In all 336 participants, participated in the competition from different of Schools, Colleges, Universities of both divisions of Jammu and Kashmir, M.P., Delhi, Gwalior, Coimbatore, H.P, U.P, Kerala, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Mathura, Madras, Assam, Chandigarh and Agra. All the participants participated in the event with great enthusiasm and fervor. The E-Certificates were awarded to each participant for their participation in the event as a mark of appreciation. Prof. Manoj K. Dhar Vice Chancellor , University of Jammu appreciated the efforts of organizers in keeping students engaged in the time of Covid 19 when everyone in under stress and confinement. These types of activities keep students connected and encourage them to showcase their creativity. The event was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Neeru Sharma, Chairperson NSS, Campus Units, and Prof. Jasbir Singh, Dean Students Welfare, University of Jammu, Jammu. Prof. Jasbir Singh lauded the efforts of all the participants for the successful conduct of online event. Prof. Neeru Sharma laid stressed upon the need for more such online competitions to celebrate this day is to protect, maintain and conserve the natural resources and habitats. Students should take lead in creating awareness among the people from all walks of life to protect the environment in an effective manner for present as well as future generations.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Meghna Dhar, NSS , Programme Officer, University of Jammu, Jammu with the technical support of Sahil Verma, and Srishti Koul, NSS Volunteers.
