Youth slits throat of cousin sister

JAMMU, Aug 4: In a shocking incident, 24 year old youth slit the throat of his cousin sister in remote Kewa village of Bhunzwah Tehsil in Kishtwar District.
The 17-year old victim girl who was critically injured had been shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar and is undergoing treatment in the hospital. As per the details available with Early Times, the accused Suret Singh has lured his minor cousin sister during tender age and develop some physical relationship with him. The accused who was working as a labourer outside J&K had return home due to prevailing lockdown and was forcing the girl to continue relationship with him which the girl refused which infuriated the accused who today after finding the victim alone at home took her to nearby forest where both had heated argument.
After heated agreements, the accused slit the throat of the victim with knife and fled from the spot, leaving the victim behind in pool of blood.
The sources told the Early Times that the girl was noticed by some passerby who raised the alarm. The villagers immediately brought the matter into the notice of police who immediately shifted the injured girl to nearby Primary Health Center from where the girl was referred to District Hospital Kishtwar where she is presently undergoing treatment. The girl in a recorded video, the copy of which is available with Early Times told the villagers that her cousin Suret Kumar slit her throat with knife and fled from the spot. When contacted senior police officials said that an FIR U/S 307 IPC & 4/25 AA has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar, adding that preliminary investigation suggested it is the case of failed relationship. “Let us start an inquiry. The motive behind the incident will get clear. As off now police has registered an FIR and is waiting for the recovery of the girl so that she can record her statement,” said police officials. Police said that they have launched a manhunt to nab the culprit.
