BBIA criticizes PDD for failing to provide uninterrupted power supply
8/5/2020 12:03:07 AM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Aug 4: A meeting of Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) was held today under the President ship of Lalit Mahajan said that PDD has failed to supply uninterrupted power to industrial units of Bari Brahmana Industrial Complex. He said that at present the units located in the Bari Brahmana Industrial Areas are suffering very badly due to unscheduled power cuts during the day time and Two Hours Curtailment in the evening imposed for the supply of Power from the BB-I Receiving Station. It is a matter of great concern that the Power Supply from BB-I Receiving Station depends on the mercy of the System and Operation Wing of the Power Development Department who impose frequent Power Cuts without any intimation to the Unit Holders resulting huge Financial Losses to the Unit Holders as well to the Department. The matter has been brought into the knowledge of the Chief Engineer System and Operation nos. of times but every time the lame excuse given in respect of Overloading of Systems. It is pertinent to mention here that the System & Operation Wing has connected the Domestic Load of the Adjoining Areas to the Dedicated Receiving Station of the Industrial complex resulting unscheduled Power Cut reported from our Member Units in spite of the facts that the Industrial Units of Bari Brahmana paying Approx. Rs.150 Crores annually to Power Development Department but the System & Operation wing has imposed the unscheduled Power Cuts in the Industrial complex resulting huge losses to the Industrial Units engaged in the manufacturing Steel/Plastic and other related products and also the Units spending huge amount on the purchase of Diesel to run their units on DG Set in case of unscheduled Power cuts.
