DC Jammu reviews arrangements for Independence Day celebration

JAMMU, AUGUST 04: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan, today reviewed the arrangements for celebration Independence Day 2020 here at meeting with concerned officers.
The venue for the celebration of I-Day 2020 shall be Mini Stadium Parade Ground Jammu where the Chief Guest will unfurl the national flag, the meeting was told.
It was also informed that the full dress rehearsal would be held on August 13. The DC inquired from the officers about arrangements being put in place by their respective departments. He directed them to make fool-proof arrangements in advance.
She also instructed them to ensure strict adherence to Covid-19 protocol during Independence Day celebration.
The arrangements to felicitate Covid warriors for recognition of their services rendered during pandemic in the district were also discussed.
Threadbare discussion was also held on security arrangements, traffic, seating arrangements, Full Dress Rehearsal, decoration, Shahnaivadan, PAS, Power and water supply, transport arrangements, sanitation, Medicare facilities, invitation cards, Barricading at venue of the function and other vital issues.
The DC instructed the Officers to ensure all related arrangements in advance and work in close coordination for the smooth conduct of Independence Day celebrations.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu, Shridhar Patil; SSP Security, S.S. Kotwal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Dr Tahir Firdous; Joint Director Information, Namrita Dogra; Joint Director, Hospitality and Protocol, Ansuya Jamwal, Assistant Commissioner General, Rakesh Dubey; SP Traffic, Pardeep Singh; Divisional Sports Officer besides Executive Engineers of PWD, PHE and other concerned officers.
