Massive fire broke out in Kuntwara forest

Kishtwar, Aug 5: A massive fire was today evening broke out in Kuntwara forest area of Doda Forest Division as a result of which the green gold cover in the area suffered massive damages. As per the details available with Early Times, after hearing about the engulfing of major chunk of forest, the officials raised the alarm and with the help of the locals started efforts to doze off the flames, but due to major fire the efforts yield no result till last reports came in.
The smoke and fire could have been easily seen from Kishtwar town as many areas in the outskirts of Kishtwar town were covered with huge smoke. One of the official said that they have already sounded alert and the teams are rushing towards the fire effected area added that it is premature to comment on the cause of fire.
The officials also get some respite due to slight drizzling going on in the area, but due to dry season- the fire is spreading rapidly when last reports came in.
