Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug5: The hanging rocks and stones are posing an open threat to the hundreds of people traveling on Anjole road in Keshwan Block of Kishtwar forcing the female Sarpanch to seek the intervention of District Administration to get the issue addressed in order to avoid any major tragedy.
As per the details available with Early Times, Road connecting Anjole village of Thakraie block of Kishtwar is under construction since last several years under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and the villagers traveling on this road always face tough time due its poor condition as well as due to hanging rocks and stones that are posing open threat to the daily commuters.
Speaking to Early Times, Sarpanch Anjole Diksha Devi said that she repeatedly demanded from the district administration that this road should be repaired properly, but despite repeated pleas the same thing did not happen.
“A public delegation from Anjole also meet me and shows concern about the slow pace of work being done on the Anjole road” said Diksha Devi added that the locals also asked the contractor working on the road to remove the stones from the side of the road, but the contractor did nothing
She said that they have also brought the matter into the notice of senior officials of PMGSY several times but they too fail to address the genuine public concern.
Sarpanch said that she telephonically took up the matter Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pawan Parihar and informed him about the problem being faced by the public and also requested him to get the roadside stones removed at an earliest.
She said that after she took up the matter, Xen PMGSY Bashir Ahmed Khanday was directed by ADC Kishtwar to visit the spot immediately and get the issue resolve as soon as possible so that people in the area do not face any trouble.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar further asked Sarpanch Anjole that the PRIs should keep an eye on the PMGSY and the contractor so as to make the road better.
