8/5/2020 11:12:36 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Aug 5: In view of first anniversary of bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir state into two Union Territories (UTs) i.e Jammu and Kashmir UT and Ladakh UT, a group of Dogra youth held a protest demonstration here today against the Modi Government.
Protesters while staging demonstration were wearing black ribbons on their forehead as a mark of protest and raised slogans like "Jammu Ko Rajye Ka Darza Do Darza Do", Dogra State Bahaal Karo Bahaal Karo", "BJP Hai Hai", "We want Statehood for J&K", "Aaj Kya Hai- Kala Divas".
The protest was led by Partap Singh Jamwal (Political Activist), Bhanu Partap Singh Goria and Arun Mehra.
Partap Singh Jamwal on 1st Black Day of J&K reiterated the “commitment to fight for the restoration of honour and dignity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir”.
Partap said that on one side on August 5 J&K’s statehood status was scrapped and the erstwhile state was downgraded into two Union Territories on the other side this day today will see a historic event as the people of whole J&K welcome the Bhoomi Pujan for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Bhanu Partap Goria and Arun Mehra said youth of J&K had endorsed the abrogation of Article 370 & 35A but we are strongly opposed to the dismantling of 200 year old historical State of J&K and downgrading it to the level of UT.
They said the people of J&K would never be able to accept the changes that came with the scrapping of statehood status for J&K.
