Samba admin braces for week long sanitation campaign- Gandagi Mukt Bharat

SAMBA, Aug 5: District administration Samba is bracing for a weeklong sanitation campaign -Gandagi Mukt Bharat (GMB) being launched on August 8, 2020.
In this regard, Development Commissioner, Rohit Khajruia today convened a meeting of district officers to discuss the preparations.
It was informed that the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitization, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India and department of Rural development and Panchayati Raj, J&K is organizing Gandagi Mukt Bharat (GMB) campaign-a special week long sanitation campaign from 8th to 15th August in which each day of the week will have a special swachhata initiative.
Chief Planning officer, Samba Sukhleen Kour presented a detailed weekly programme to be carried out in the district including organizing e-ratrichaupal with sarpanchs by the ACD/BDOs on 8th of August, Campaign to collect and segregate single use plastic on 9th August, Sharamdaan in Panchayats to clean public buildings & launch of SBM mobile academy on 10th August, All India Wall Painting day of SBM message in village on 11th August, Sharamdaan in Village by tree Plantation on 12th of August, online Painting competition on 13th August, cleanliness & sanitization drives in PHCs on 14th August and Independence Day Celebrations, ODF Plus declaration of village in Aam Sabha on 15th August.
The DDC directed the district officers to coordinate with office of Assistant Commissioner Development, and submit a detailed action plan in advance so that proper arrangements to carry out the different activities outlined in the campaign can be taken up successfully. He directed the officers and field staffs to strictly adhere to coronovirus guidelines regarding maintain of safe distance, use of masks and sanitizers. He exhorted upon all the officers to work in a result oriented framework and make the campaign a successful event.
Assistant Commissioner Development, Sidharath Dhiman; District Panchayat Officer, Piyush Dhotra; Chief Medical Officer, Rajinder Samyal; besides Executive Engineer PWD, PHE, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Samba besides other district officers attended the meeting.
