Independence Day arrangements reviewed in district Samba

SAMBA, Aug 5: For smooth and enthusiastic celebration of the Independence Day in the district, District Development Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, today reviewed the arrangements for the National Festival, here at a meeting of district and sectoral officers.
Senior Superintended of Police Shakti Pathak; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Jitender Mishra; Assistant Commissioner Development Sidharath Dhiman; besides Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B), PHE, and PDD Division Samba, and other district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.
The meeting decided to organize the main function in the Sports Stadium, where the chief guest would unfurl the Tricolor and take the salute of the March past contingents. Similar functions would be held at sub-divisions, Tehsils and blocks, the meeting decided.
For the general supervision of the necessary arrangements a Committee was constituted under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner Revenue, comprising officials from Police, Army, PWD and other Departments.
Senior Superintended of Police said that fool proof security arrangements shall be made for smooth and celebration of the National Day.
He enjoined upon all the officers to cooperate with the security personnel while making necessary arrangements at the venue.
The DDC directed Executive Engineer, PDD and EO Municipality to replace/ repair all street / flood lights in the town, and ensure installation of adequate lighting at the venue of celebration for security reasons.
The DDC directed the supervisory committee to ensure proper social distancing, usage of sanitizers and masks at the venue. He directed CMO to install a medical team at the venue and proper screening and medical assistance be followed.
