JKAOA hails admin for farming sector reforms, cadre mgt

JAMMU, Aug 5: A meeting of Agriculture officers under the banner of Jammu & Kashmir Agriculture Officers Association (JKAOA)-Gazetted-Direct Recruits, held here today to express heartfelt gratitude to J&K Union Territory administration for taking revolutionary steps in bringing reforms in farming sector besides working for cadre management issue of officers of the department. The meeting thanked Lieutenant Governor, J&K, GC Murmu, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, K K Sharma and Principal Secretary, Agriculture Production & Farmer Welfare Naveen Choudhary. Dr Aadil Rashid, President of Association expressed satisfaction over steps taken by Principal Secretary, Agriculture Production & Farmer Welfare to revolutionize Agriculture sector viz. organization of Kissan Pakhwada for 100 percent saturation of KCC, linking of Mandies with E-NAM, GI certification of Saffron, formation of FPO at Block level, introduction of concept of Integrated Farming System for augmenting income of farmers , freedom to the farmers for Direct Marketing of produce and purchase of farm machinery from agencies of their choice etc. The members hailed Principal Secretary, Agriculture for affecting more than 400 elevations within 3 months to boost the sagging morale of officers. The members also expressed hope that other issues of cadre viz pay parity with Veterinarian, grant of Time bound scheme for Assured Career Progression of officers, restructuring/ reorganizing of Department to meet present day needs of farming community and conduct of DPC pending for 3 decades be resolved at an earliest. Among others who participated in meeting include Jagdish Chander Raina, Deepak Singh, Rajesh Verma, Neeraj Rajwal, Rajesh Kumar and Sushil Kumar.
