| HC issues notice to Home Secy, DM Samba others in PSA detention case | | |

JAMMU, Aug 6 (JNF): Justice Puneet Gupta of J&K High Court Jammu while admitting a Habeas Corpus Petition of Harbajan Singh of Vijaypur issued notice to respondents Home Secretary J&K, District Magistrate Samba, SSP Samba & ors.
The High Court admitted the petition after hearing AK Sawhney Advocate who submitted that the petitioner has been falsely booked under PSA by the respondents at the behest of some local politicians and lower rung of police.
Adv AK Sawhney submitted before the Court that PSA detention is illegal, arbitrary and just to overreach the legal bail orders and normal laws. He submitted that the petitioner falls under the category of Senior citizen and is about 60 years of age and has committed no Public orders. Public order is not violated at all by the acts of the petitioner. The detention order is passed on extraneous consideration, he submitted. The Court after hearing the Advocate for petitioner issued notice to respondent through Aijaz Lone Dy AG and directed that the case be listed on 10.8.2020. JNF
