PWD in action: XEn attached, AE suspended

Jammu, Aug 6: As a sequel to the ongoing war of JK UT administration under the command of outgoing Lt Guv G C Murmu, against corrupt and erring officers, the Public Works (R&B) Department suspended an AE and attached another XEn with the officer of Chief Engineer Jammu.
According to sources in the Civil Secretariat, an assistant engineer (AE) posted in PMGSY Division Duhal has been suspended by the Government on August 5, 2020. “Er. Mohammad Akram, I/c Assistant Engineer (Civil) has been suspended in reference to FIR No 110/2018 u/s 341, 353, 333, 147, RPC Police Station Bakshi Nagar, Jammu and letter No. CRB/2020/3318-2 I -DPOJ dated 11.01.2020, from Sr. Superintendent of police, Jammu. The Government vide order no 223-PW(R&B) of 2020dated 05/08/2020”, sources said, adding that the I/c Assistant Engineer (Civil), presently posted in PMGSY Division Budhal, is hereby placed under suspension in terms of Rule-31(I) of J&K Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules. 1956.
“During the period of his suspension he shall remain attached with the office of Chief Engineer, PMGSY Jammu”, they said, adding that in another case the government has attached an incharge XEn with the office Chief Engineer, Public Works (R&B) Jammu.
“Er. Pawan Kumar Gupta, 1/c Executive Engineer (Civil) has been attached with the office of Chief Engineer, PWD Jammu in reference to PW(R&B)/Acctts/58/2018-19 dated 23/06/2020 and endorsement No. CEJ/PS/mater/425-26 dated 23.06.2020 and DAI/Audit/31/868-70 dated 31.07.2020”, sources said.
Sources further said, “The government vide order no-220 PW(R&B) of 2020 Dated:03-08-2020 has attached Er. Pawan Kumar Gupta, as I/c Executive Engineer, PW(R&13) Division Udhampur in with the office of Chief Engineer, PW(R&B), Jammu, pending enquiry.”
It is pertinent to mention here that the Public Works (R&B) Department in the month of June this year had initiated regular departmental actions (RDA) and sanctioned has been initiated against 14 engineers including one draftsman. Though during his short tenure spanning nine months the first Lt. Guv JK UT, G C Murmu waged a war against corrupt and erring officers and took strong notice of prevailing anarchy in the system.
