DDC Ramban reviews I-Day arrangements

RAMBAN, Aug 6: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan today convened a meeting of district and sectoral officers to discuss arrangements for celebration of Independence Day -2020.
SSP Traffic, JS Johar, ADC, Ashok Kumar, ACR, Dherinder Sharma, ACD, CEO, CMO, Dy. SP Headquarter, Executive Engineers of PHE, PWD and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
The meeting decided that the main function would be held at District Police Line where the chief guest would unfurl the National Flag and take salute at the march past comprising the contingents of Police, Paramilitary Forces and Army Band.
In view of Covid-19 pandemic it would be celebrated in a limited way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as well as maintaining social distancing. It was informed that during the celebration there will be no participation of school and college students in the National day celebrations as a precautionary measure.
The DDC directed the concerned departments to ensure proper arrangements related to security, sanitation, seating, barricading, water supply, power supply, issuance of invitation cards, transportation and illumination of important buildings etc on Independence Day.
During the meeting, the DDC also constituted several committees to oversee different arrangements besides coordinating among the concerned departments for the smooth and successful conduct of function.
It was also decided that district administration would felicitate COVID warriors in recognition of their services at different levels during pandemic in the district.
The DDC directed officers to strictly adhere to the Covid-19 advisories and SOP’s during Independence Day celebrations.
