EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Aug 6: Despite High Court order to attest mutation of a land, the concerned Revenue officials have allegedly been adopting delaying tactics in honoring the court order and continuously harassing the complainants only to oblige a senior leader and his brother, who are involved in this land grabbing.
As per documents available with Early Times the issue has been lingering on for the last seven years. The complainant Sharat Chander Nagra resident of Rakh Hosiari, Jasrota district Kathua, while talking to Early Times said that JK High Court had ordered to attest the mutation number 1150 in four weeks but the concerned Revenue Department didn’t respect the High Court’s directions even after four years.
He further alleged that he had lodged a complaint in Lieutenant Governor Grievance Cell with complaint number 999001251489 but it has been eight months, the complaint could not be addressed by Revenue Department. Later another complaint was lodged as a reminder with number 999001436632 informing that concerned Tehisildar has not been resolving the issue by arresting the mutation.
“Deputy Commissioner Kathua has not been taking serious note in this issue despite number of requests. If Deputy Commissioner will not honor the order of HC, then what will be fate of commoners. Due to continuous delay, the land grabbers have been snatching my land and Revenue Department Kathua is responsible for this,” he alleged.
He further said that although there is a maximum time for registration of mutation is 45 days but it has been seven years the concerned Tehsildar has not signed the mutation number 1150, which has been entered on the Revenue Register in 2014 after the statement of five witnesses in favor of him. “There is not even a single objection till date by any blood relation, which clearly shows that some officials of revenue department are involved with land grabbers, that is why they are not implementing the JK High Court order,” he said further adding that DC Kathua also directed the SSP in this case but police is also mute on this issue. When contacted the concerned Tehsildar Sourabh Sharma, said that he had recently joined here and doesn’t know much about the matter.
