Recovery rate of COVID-19 patients improves in JK as 510 more get discharged

SRINAGAR, Aug 7: The recovery rate of Corona Virus patients continues to improve in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir as 510 more people affected by virus were discharged from various hospitals of union territory today. So far 16,218 COVID-19 patients have recovered in Jammu & Kashmir.
In the meantime, 473 fresh cases of Corona Virus were reported from different districts of union territory today. With the fresh cases the number of virus affected people reached 23,927. 13 more COVID-19 patients died in the past 24 hours or so and as such the total number of casualties is 449. Srinagar has the highest number of 147 deaths.
Srinagar reported 123 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Jammu 61 cases, Bandipora 48 cases, Baramulla 32 cases, Kupwara 28 cases, Ganderbal 27 cases, Pulwama 26 cases, Budgam 24 cases, Udhampur 23 cases, Kulgam and Reasi 16 cases each, Anantnag 13 cases, Samba 11 cases, Kathua nine cases, Shopian eight cases, Rajouri and Doda three cases each and Ramban & Poonch one case each.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 473 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 128 from Jammu division and 345 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 23,927. Also 13 COVID-19 deaths have been reported from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 510 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 142 from Jammu Division and 368 from Kashmir Division. Out of 23,927 positive cases, 7,260 are active positive, 16,218 have recovered and 449 have died; 34 in Jammu division and 415 in Kashmir division. Out of 6, 95,620 test results available, 6, 71,693 samples have tested negative till date.
Additionally, till date 3, 84,044 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 42,615 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 7,260 in isolation and 43,889 under home surveillance. Besides, 2, 89,831 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 5,822 positive cases, 2,353 active positive, 3,322 recovered, 147 deaths; Baramulla has 2,073 positive cases, 382 active positive, 1,614 recovered, 77 deaths; Pulwama has 1,769 positive cases, 718 active positive, 1,024 recovered, 27 deaths; Kulgam has 1,593 positive cases, 154 active positive, 1,410 recovered, 29 deaths; Shopian has 1,508 positive cases, 198 active positive, 1,286 recovered, 24 deaths.
“Anantnag has 1,498 positive cases, 315 active positive, 1,153 recovered, 30 deaths; Budgam has 1,462 positive cases, 428 active positive, 1,000 recovered, 34 deaths; Kupwara has 1,209 positive cases, 223 active positive, 963 recovered, 23 deaths; Bandipora has 962 positive cases, 344 active positive, 601 recovered, 17 deaths and Ganderbal has 630 positive cases, 289 active positive, 334 recovered, seven deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 1,473 positive cases, 703 active positive, 747 recovered, 23 deaths; Rajouri has 754 positive cases, 253 active positive, 498 recovered, three deaths; Udhampur has 618 positive cases, 205 active positive, 411 recovered, two deaths; Ramban has 576 positive cases, 62 active positive, 513 recovered, one death; Kathua has 574 positive cases, 116 active positive, 457 recovered, one death.
“Samba has 478 positive cases, 181 active positive, 296 recovered, one death; Doda has 302 positive cases, 65 active positive, 235 recovered, two deaths; Poonch has 253 positive cases, 91 active positive, 161 recovered, one death; Reasi has 214 positive cases, 141 active positive, 73 recovered and Kishtwar has 159 positive cases, 39 active positive, 120 recovered,” reads the bulletin. Out of 23,927 positive cases, 4,830 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least 2 metres from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
