Zahid Malik demands KV school for Darhal
8/8/2020 11:30:10 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 8: Zahid Sarfraz Malik General Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Pardesh Vichar Vibhag said that opening of Kendriya Vidhyalya School at Darhal is a long pending demand of the residents of Tehsil Darhal since long. Number of times this issue has been projected before the State and Central Government for establishment of a Kendriya Vidyalaya School in Darhal and it was assured that the demand will be considered. But the residents of Darhal were shocked to see the proposed list of 23 places in Jammu and Kashmir for opening of new Kendriya Vidyalayas as disclosed by the Principal Secretary School Education Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon. The 23 places wherein new Kendraya Vidayalas are going to be setup does not include the name of Darhal, whereas Darhal deserves priority for the reason that Darhal fulfills the requisite criteria as prescribed in Office memorandum issued by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan New Delhi vide no. F.1-23(3)/2004-KVS/Admn.1 dated 16-05-2018.
Malik said that Darhal is one of the remote and backward Tehsil of Jammu and Kashmir with a population of more than 55,000 and mostly comprises of lower economy class families. It is important to mention here that large number of people of Darhal are employees of central government such as Army, Para military forces, police etc and even the population other than those who are serving in central or UT services also deserve better affordable quality education and in whole Darhal there is not even a single such prestigious institution as they could not afford education in prestigious private institutions because of economic distress as most of the inhabitants depends on agriculture, rearing animals and labour work for their sustenance.
