CB teams camp in Kishtwar to probe alleged embezzlements

Jammu, Aug 8: In order to probe various cases pertaining to alleged embezzlement in different departments, including RDD and R&B, teams of Crime Branch are camping in Kishtwar District.
According to details available with Early Times a CB team headed by a DySP is in the hilly district to probe the alleged mass scale embezzlement worth thousands of crores by Superintending Engineers of Rural Engineering Wing of the Rural Development Department (RDD).
Taking serious note of the embezzlement, Crime Branch Jammu in PV.No 123/2019 has asked the BDOs in Kishtwar District to provide details with regard to the work.
Plan from the year 2014 to till date, list of all sanctioned interlocking tiles executed during the year 2014 to 2018-19, copy of rates approved by the RDD & supply orders, copies of technical verification, copy of supply orders, copy of supply orders, copy of specifications approved by Xen ReW or by SE ReW Jammu, details of purchase of interlocking tiles, copies of tenders, list of job card holders, details of skilled and unskilled labourers, details of 13th & 14th FC, Panchayat wise details of amount spent, details of attendance sheets.
Beside RDD, the Crime Branch team also begins investigation into fake contractor cards issued from Kashmir Division.
The Crime Branch has summoned several contractors with regard to the verification of the cards after the complaint was lodged with the Crime Branch that alleged hundreds of “A category” cards were issued by the R&B department to some contractors in Doda and Kishtwar Districts.
In another case, the Crime Branch team headed by Inspector Level Officer is camping in remote Marwah area of Kishtwar District to probe mass scale bunglings in Marwah, Warwan and Dachhan blocks.
The Crime Branch Team visited various areas of Marwah blocks to physically check the execution of works under MGNREGA and CDF.
The sources told the Early Times that keeping in view of burning of BDO office Marwah last year, the officials of RDD department had sought some time from the Crime Branch for collection of record. However the department has submitted the list of the employees who remain posted in the Marwah block since last 7-8 years.
The sources said that few names including that of a BDO and JE are missing from the list.
It is pertinent to mention that beside around 80 employees poses in three blocks of Marwah Sub Division, over 100 blue eyed vendors are under scanner in Multi crore RDD scandal in Marwah sub Division.
