EARLY TIMES REPORT

UDHAMPUR, Aug 8: About two years back a Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) was approved for Jagir Gordi area of Ramnagar near here for which the land was also identified but nothing materialized on ground so far.
Sources informed that the then Government of Jammu and Kashmir also sent a reminder to KV administration and even after completing all the related documents nothing has been done in this regard.
It is pertinent to mention here that recently 23 new KVs have been sanctioned for J&K UT.
Sanjeev Jandial, Municipal Councilor from Ramnagar said announcement to establish 23 new KVs in J&K is a welcome step but what is the reason behind stalling Kendriya Vidyalaya sanctioned for Ramnagar a few years ago.
Several other residents of Ramnagar and adjoining areas have appealed to the LG Manoj Kumar Sinha and Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, Principal Secretary School Education Department to issue necessary instructions to speed the process to establish the already approved KV for Ramnagar, adding that the work on Ramnagar KV should be started at the earliest, even before the newly sanctioned 23 schools.
When contacted, CEO Udhampur said that land was identified at three places including Jagir Ghordi, Thaplal and Mantalai for the establishment of three new KV schools.
He also said whenever the authorities give a go ahead for the KV at Ramnagar temporary accommodation will be provided to the institute at Jagir Ghordi.
